CPIS offers SEI authorised CMMI training, consultancy and mentoring, and more general project management and process improvement consultancy, training and assessment solutions tailored to the requirements of the customer’s business.
At CPIS we believe that engineering, project management and support methods and processes should be accessible and practical, and should be formulated in a way that underpins business goals, without alienating the principal users of the processes. To support these principles we use CMMI® as a best practice reference which, even if not fully applied, can provide help across the breadth of engineering, project management and support processes. If you are unfamiliar with CMMI®, we can provide overviews for a range of audiences, from Senior Managers to Engineers or, if you want to know more or have already decided to implement CMMI®, we can provide SEI approved CMMI training, either in house or at public courses.
We also believe that most management or process related difficulties are unique - there are few, if any, “off the shelf” solutions. We work with our clients to discover what is right for them, rather than trying to impose a pre-prepared, and inappropriate solution.
No organisation is too large or too small to benefit from improved processes, and CPIS works with many kinds of organisation. Our low intensity approach can be particularly effective in helping smaller organisations, who may not have the depth of resources required to sustain a major process improvement programme, or who do not wish to use a formal process model, but do recognise the need to improve.
Whatever the challenge, CPIS, by using a combination of assessment, observation, coaching/mentoring and training, identifies opportunities for improvement and selects practices suited to the individual organisation for addressing these opportunities in a practical and accessible way. Working with our clients and our partner companies, we strive to devise solutions that deliver tangible results that are accepted and used by hands-on staff and that are likely to stand the test of time, not just pass the next audit.
Our consultants, both in-house and from our associate companies, have a predominantly hands-on background, with direct experience of delivery of projects and products to real-world customers.
CPIS is led by Roger Gamage, an SEI authorised CMMI Instructor, who has been involved in real time embedded software and electronics development for over thirty years and has held senior project and departmental management roles with major companies including Dynatech Corporation, Philips, Simoco, Trend Communications and NEC.
