The Software Engineering Institute’s “Services Supplement for CMMI V1.2” is a 1-day course that introduces service providers, appraisal team members, and process group members to the CMMI concepts and components relevant to service delivery. A pre-requisite for this course is successful attendance on an SEI “Introduction to CMMI V1.3” course (or V1.1 followed by SEI supplied upgrade training). CMMI-SVC is applicable to technical maintenance, operations, logistics, and IT services etc., but can also be applied to many other types of service and industries.

Objectives of the SEI “CMMI for Services Supplement” course:

  • To provide sufficient understanding of the CMMI-SVC structure to be able to apply the CMMI-SVC model appropriately in a practical setting.
  • To understand the CMMI-SVC model contents to practice level, and how to navigate the CMMI-SVC model to find lower level details.
  • To prepare candidates for progression to more advanced CMMI-SVC training.
  • To provide sufficient understanding of CMMI-SVC to participate in CMMI-SVC appraisals.
